"Those guys (Red Bull) are in a league of their own", Hamilton said. In between, he complained of vehicle and tire problems, and had to fight to hold on for one of his worst finishes of the season. I'm not superstitious or any of this bullshit, but. the car's cursed.

It was Red Bull's first front-row lockout since the 2013 United States Grand Prix.

The Dutch driver has two wins this season and five podium finishes in the last seven races.

Hamilton's positive experience at the Mexican Grand Prix mirrored previous year, when he also won the title at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez at Vettel's expense.

Daniel Ricciardo went from pole position to yet another disaster as engine failure doomed his vehicle yet again.

Hamilton endured an uncomfortable afternoon, struggling for grip with his tire choice and needing only a seventh-placed finish to guarantee the title, he put up little challenge as first Vettel and then Ricciardo overtook him.

Reflecting on the race itself, Verstappen says taking the lead at the start and being able to manage the pace from the front was key to scoring his second career victory at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

TOP TEN: Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), Carlos Sainz (Renault), Charles Leclerc (Sauber), Marcus Ericsson (Sauber).

Red Bull, revelling in the high altitude conditions which equalise engine performance, set the tone for the weekend on Friday when they comprehensively outpaced Mercedes and Ferrari in practice. The two had a costly collision in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that knocked both cars out of the race.

For the second year in succession, Vettel has watched Hamilton sew up the title with two rounds to spare.

The Pentagon approved a request for additional troops at the southern border, likely to total several hundred, to help the U.S. She had heard that job opportunities were scarce in southern Mexico. "Here in this truck right now you can get help", he said.

The team constructor's championship is still up for grabs between Mercedes and Ferrari.

A victorious Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to his father, Anthony, after emulating Juan Manuel Fangio by winning a fifth World Championship on Sunday.

"He drove superb all year".

Ferrari hasn't won the driver's championship since 2007 and Hamilton gave a nod of respect to the season title fight with Vettel.

"Number five is incredible". "The pressure that he would be under. that's a lot to ride on one's shoulders".

Vettel's tilt for victory saw him pull off impressive overtakes on Ricciardo and Hamilton over the course of the race, but he ultimately finished as runner-up to Verstappen.

"The vehicle. I'll let Gasly drive it, I'm done with it".

Vettel botched an overtaking move on the safety auto restart, ultimately dropping to fourth, and then Bottas shredded a rear tyre on debris, gifting Hamilton a win, the lead of the championship and crucial momentum that was backed up in Spain in the following race.

"All eyes have been on Verstappen, he's dominated all the sessions but when it mattered most, Ricciardo delivered", racing expert Martin Brundle said.
