Scott orders investigation of election offices

Elias, a Democratic elections lawyer who has a good success rate with candidates caught up in statewide recounts, said he understands why Scott and his allies are so anxious, with the election night margin of 30,000 votes now cut in half.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel said it analyzed voting patterns and found that of Broward ballots already counted, thousands made the unlikely choice of voting in lower-profile contests like for agriculture commissioner, but not for Senate, the marquee race on the ballot. "'The Broward Effect.' How come they never find Republican votes?" he said. Florida counties have a deadline of noon Saturday to deliver the first set of "unofficial returns" to the secretary of state after an election - a count that would occur even if the race wasn't close. Scott's thin lead over Nelson has narrowed in the vote-counting in the days since he declared victory on Tuesday night.

To be clear, Rubio doesn't offer a shred of evidence anything nefarious is going on, other than the fact that Broward County is Democratic, has a lot of uncounted ballots, and the elections supervisor failed to properly preserve ballots in a congressional primary two years ago.

US President Donald Trump commented on the ongoing election chaos in Florida and Georgia Friday morning, accusing Democrats of voter fraud and jokingly pointing to Russian Federation for meddling in the midterms.

Murphy, who swapped his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat in 2011, served in the U.S. House 2013-17. Republicans expanded their two-seat advantage in the Senate. The Supreme Court, in Bush v. Gore, stopped the recount, leaving George W. Bush with the majority of electoral votes and the presidency.

Marc Elias is a lawyer who was the general counsel for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, as well as for John Kerry's presidential campaign. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has said they are not investigating, that no allegations of fraud have been brought forward and there has been no written request from Scott yet. DeSantis holds a lead of 38,613 votes out of more than 8.2 million ballots counted - a margin of 0.47 percentage points. If the difference is 0.25 percent or less, state law requires a hand recount, which would address the issues of the undervote that Elias believes will be a key in the recount.

North Dakota voters set to reject marijuana legalization measure
State laws allowing recreational use of marijuana have spread across the United States since Colorado voters approved one in 2012. It came as the state was still setting up its medical marijuana system, which voters approved by a wide margin two years ago.

The campaign says it's monitoring the situation and preparing for a possible state-mandated recount.

According to the Sun Sentinel, an unusual pattern has emerged in Broward County, where many more people voted in local races than the U.S. Senate race, when the trend is typically the reverse. The race remains too close to call, with Nelson narrowly trailing Scott.

Scott announced Thursday he is suing the Palm Beach and Broward county supervisors of elections, saying "there may be rampant fraud" in the counties that heavily favor Democrats.

Abrams is vying to become the first black woman elected as governor of a USA state. He denied the charge. Scott's lead has been steadily shrinking in the Senate race as the state's largest counties continue to tally ballots that were mailed in or cast on a provisional basis on Tuesday.

For demanding that Broward adhere to state law, Rubio was accused of to trying to stop some votes from being counted.

Broward County and Palm Beach, Fla. are both in the middle of controversy for alleged voter fraud due to hiding information about votes and election supervisors using their own judgement when counting incorrectly filled out absentee ballots.
