Aim is to win Test series in Australia, says Ishant

With the four-test home series against India looming, Clarke told local radio earlier this week that Australia would not win any matches if they did not play "tough cricket". "But when somebody questions or insults my integrity and my credibility, that's not for sale, that's not on".

"I feel these days being a father I guess there's going to come a day where I'll no longer be on this planet but what I will do is my daughter will know exactly what I stand for".

After Whateley's stinging remarks blaming Clarke for the ball tampering saga in South Africa the barbs have been flying thick and fast.

Clarke joined a chorus of former players who have criticised the new ethos propagated in the wake of March's ball-tampering scandal, saying Australia's chances of success would be compromised if their aggressive streak was tempered.

ICHAEL Clarke didn't win too many of popularity polls in Australian cricket, not among certain team-mates when he was Test captain and not among most fans. Not to a captain, a coach or those passing through.

Note also that Clarke pulled the old "you never played the game line", as though your career path has any relevance in a debate over the spirit of how the game is played.

"If you want Test cricket to survive you've got to reduce the entrance fee".

Michael Clarke says Australia 'won't win' being nice

"They were getting a bit grumpy, which was pleasing us", Nielsen said. Now the word "fight" evokes fist fights, verbal diarrhoea and racial and religious taunts. "Boys and girls want to win".

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy begins in Adelaide on December 6, with the Indian team bedding in for preparations at the Sydney Cricket Ground and taking on Cricket Australia XI in a four-day tour game from Wednesday.

Much is made of Australia's dire record in Asia, but India has had an even tougher time on these shores, without a single Test series victory in the country and without a win across its past nine Tests in Australia.

Clarke, the former Australian cricket captain, has absolutely unloaded at respected journalist and broadcaster Gerard Whateley for comments he made on Melbourne sports radio station SEN.

There is little doubt that Indian captain Virat Kohli will be the biggest threat for Australia in the upcoming Test series.

"I think some people just took it the wrong way - they thought it means the Australian cricket team is going to be overly nice, or a bit soft, but it's not that at all".

"We've been a disliked team for a number of years through that on-field behaviour and it obviously came to a head in Cape Town". "Clearly, Johannesburg was a really odd circumstance and a difficult game to play in for everyone I think, but going into Dubai the guys competed as hard as they could and they'll continue to, and we've got some more senior guys coming back now", he added.

Manchester United training at Carrington ahead of Young Boys clash
Young has won the Premier League, the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Europa League during his spell at Manchester United . Mourinho said defender Victor Lindelof would likely be out of action for "quite a while" with an injury.
