ROH "matchmaker" Nigel McGuinness is featured in a video, saying today that the ROH World Championship has been stripped from Jay Briscoe.  In the video, Nigel cites the injuries that Briscoe suffered at the TV taping with this statement:

"After the recent attacks at the TV taping, Jay Briscoe has been seriously injured and will not be medically cleared to compete for the forsdeeable future.  Given the nature of having to defend the ROH World Title within a specified period of time, I am forced to strip Jay Briscoe of the Ring of Honor World Title."

Nigel pointed out that the title is declared vacant, and the rules say that if the champion cannot defend the title, it goes to the No. 1 Contender via forfeit.  He notes in the video that Michael Elgin declined, so there will be a single elimination tournament that will conclude in Philadelphia at Death Before Dishonor.  Elgin is the first man entered in the tournament.
