Hey everyone!  Drew Koscelek here, hitting the ground running with the NXT Report for 08/14/14!  We’ve got an exciting hour of wrestling ahead of us.

Highlights of Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze from NXT Takeover, with Breeze winning the #1 Contendership for the NXT Championship, held by Adrian Neville.  They show clips of Breeze distracting Neville and putting off the challenge.  The time for putting it off ends tonight.  Tonight, Breeze and Neville, for the title!

Bull Dempsey & Mojo Rawley vs. The Vaudevillians (Aiden English & Simon Gotch) in a 1st Round Match for the #1 Contender to the NXT Tag Team Championship

English and Dempsey start it off.  Tag to Rawley early, who goes for a quick cover.  English gets the advantage and tags in Gotch, who does some squats while working the arm.

Dempsey in the ring, and he’s brutalizing Gotch with elbows.  Gotch fights out. Mojo tags himself in, and then misses in the corner.  Tag to English.  Rolling senton into a top-rope senton.  It’s over.  The Vaudevillians win.

Decent pacing, but nothing that really stood out for me.  I like the Vaudevillians.  The work well as a team, and this was a good choice to advance.

After the match, Mojo sells the loss in the ring.  Bull Dempsey clotheslines him and attacks Mojo pretty fiercely.  Fans chanting “Thank you Bull.”  Says a lot about Mojo, honestly.

Well, he’s not done.  He sets up Mojo and hits his finisher.  NOW he’s done.

Backstage, Bayley warms up.  Sasha approaches her and tells her she’s not going to be the next NXT Champ before her.  Bayley says it’s not her fault both Summer and Charlotte dumped her.  Sasha says she’s the next champ.

Bayley vs. Sasha for the #1 Contendership to the NXT Women’s Championship

The ladies talk trash to start it off.  They lock up, and Sasha gets the headlock.  The audience chants “Bayley’s gonna hug you.”  Funny.  Arm toss from Bayley.  They stare down.

Sasha lays into Bayley.  Bayley returns the favor.  Roll-up and two.  They roll back and forth for two-counts.  Bayley locks in a headlock.  Sasha tries to sping out, Bayley sticks with her.  Sasha gets free and hits a dropkick.  Bayley gets some momentum, drops a knee.  She teases a Belly to Bayley, but doesn’t manage.  Sasha crawls to the apron.  She ducks out of the ring.  Bayley goes to drag her in, but Sasha tricks her.  We go to break.

Back from break, Sasha still has the advantage.  Cover from Sasha.  She stretches Bayley out.  Sasha slamming Bayley’s head into the mat.  Suplex into a cover for two.  Sasha locks in a submission choke, but breaks it on her own.  She talks trash to Bayley and goes for the same move again.  Bayley rolls her through and gets some fire.  Shoulder in the corner, but she misses an elbow.  Clothesline to Sasha, both ladies are out.

Bayley goes for a sneaky roll-up for two.  She slaps Sasha.  Sasha hits a back stabber into a cross-face.  Bayley rolls back and gets Sasha’s shoulders to the mat.  The ref counts to three!  Bayley wins!

A great match from these ladies.  Seriously, the women’s division here is strong, and it kills me to think this same match would’ve been ended four times already on Raw.  These ladies put on a good match, and I’m looking forward to Charlotte vs. Bayley.

After the match, Charlotte comes out and offers her hand to Bayley.  Bayley hesitates, but they shake. Charlotte looks very awkward.

Sin Cara & Kalisto vs. Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake in a 1st Round Match for the #1 Contender to the NXT Tag Team Championship

First time Murphy and Blake have partnered, apparently.  Dubstep music, too, but they look like a tag team, which is nice.  Sin Cara and Blake start it off.  Sin Cara sends Blake flying.  Tag to Murphy.  Tag to Kalisto.  Kalisto hits a shoulder block, then sneaks in a kick to the face.  Tag to Sin Cara, nice tandem moves from the two.  Tag back to Kalisto, and Murphy nails him in the face.  Kalisto goes for a tag and Sin Cara hits a cross body.  Springboard action, flip elbow.  Two-count.  It’s getting crazy.

Kalisto makes a blind tag and hits a springboard dropkick into a powerbomb.  Kalisto hits his finisher and it’s over.  Team Lucha wins.

Exciting match from the start that really highlighted Sin Cara and Kalisto.  Good stuff from both men.

Backstage, Marcus Louis and Sylvester Lefort are upset that they’re not in the tournament.  They call out Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

Tyler Breeze vs. Adrian Neville (c) for the NXT Championship

Both men lock up, and Breeze pulls the hair.  He sneaks in a knee to the gut.  Neville flips out and works the arm.  Breeze to the ropes.  Neville nails a few kicks, then throws Breeze face-first into the turnbuckle.  Neville is using his speed to keep the advantage.  Roll-up for a near fall.  Breeze dives at him and misses, going through the ropes.  Neville hops to the apron, Breeze kicks out the feet.  Meanwhile, Tyson Kidd walks to the announcer’s table to observe.

Back in the ring, Neville kicks out at one as we go to break.  We return to Breeze in charge.  He’s got a headlock locked in.  Action spills outside and Breeze still has the advantage.  He sends Neville into the steps.  Back in the ring, he locks in the headlock again.

Adrian Neville gets some momentum.  He nails Breeze with a dropkick and a standing shooting star press.  Two count.  They fight on the apron.  Breeze hits a dropkick for a very near fall.  Breeze drops Neville face first into the turnbuckle, but Neville hits a superkick out of nowhere.  Two-count.

Neville sets Breeze up and climbs up top.  Breeze cuts him off.  He goes up top and tries for a superplex.  Neville counters.  He shoulders out.  Breeze hangs on.  Neville climbs up and sunset flips into a powerbomb for two.  Neville runs up top again.  Breeze rolls away.

Breeze hits an impressive looking Tornado DDT and Neville sells it like a champ.  Very near fall here.  Fans are loving the match.

Breeze goes for an elbow in the corner.  Neville catches him.  Breeze fights out.  They trade elbows.  Breeze goes for a German Suplex.  Neville flips out and hits one of his own.  Very nice spot.  They trade elbows.  Neville runs the ropes and flies out onto Breeze.  Both men are laid out, and Tyson Kidd approaches.

Neville hits Kidd with a superkick out of nowhere.  Kidd was still behind the barricade.  Neville gets rolled in by Breeze.  Kick on the apron.  He heads up top.  Neville goes for the Red Arrow, but Tyson Kidd runs in and attacks Neville.  The referee calls for the DQ.  Breeze is pissed.

Breeze attacks Kidd and they push each other.  The two brawl as Neville gets to his feet.  He jumps in and everyone’s fighting everyone.  Breeze and Kidd start teaming up. Sami Zayn runs out to even up the odds and clears out the ring.  He tends to Neville, and hands him his belt, but not without giving it a nice glance first.  Our show comes to an end.

Disappointing way to end a very good match.  The non-finish wasn’t necessary.  But, I believe the plan is to have a triple threat (or fatal four-way) at the next live show.  Up to that point?  Very, very good.

Overall, a very good episode of NXT.  They can be hit or miss, but tonight’s was excellent.  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out!

Thanks for reading, folks!
