We will be starting our Night of Champions coverage with some roundtable discussions for each match! Here we go!
Preshow: The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) vs. Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) vs. The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) vs. 3MB (any pairing of Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, or Jinder Mahal) vs. The Real Americans (Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro) (with Zeb Colter) --- Winner faces The Shield later in the night.
I guess this is WWE’s way of getting the much-ignored tag team division on the pay per view. I’m not really down on the “Turmoil” gimmick here because it does give us something different to watch. That said, the problem is that none of these teams, aside from perhaps the Prime Time Players, is truly over.
I really see this coming down to two teams – the PTP and The Usos. With The Shield being the heel team holding the straps, this will likely result in one of these two face teams making the challenge for the belts. Both of these teams have a bit more reaction with the live fans (generally) as well and could provide a decent match with the Shield. The Usos had their opportunity a couple months ago, so I suspect they won’t be the ones picking up the win here.
Winner – The Prime Time Players
This would have been a nice way to juice up the PPV had the WWE spent more than a nanosecond hyping up the Tag Team title match. The easy route is to pick the Prime Time Players, and that is the route I am going to take. I am sorry, but the rest of the teams just are not over enough or relevant enough.
Winners - The Prime Time Players
We have a Tag Team Turmoil match with five teams, so there’s some questions that sort of need to be answered. Are all the teams on the apron at the start of this match, or are we looking at two teams starting off, with a new team coming to the ring after each elimination? I have no idea.
Let’s assume teams will be called one at a time to the ring. We will start off with The Real Americans vs. Tons of Funk. Real Americans eliminate the Funkers. Next is The Usos. Usos have been prominent lately, but they’ve also feuded with The Shield for a few months this year already. They’re out. 3MB? Quickly eliminated. Prime Time Players come in and after a tough match, get the win.
Winners: Primetime Players
