There has been a lot of talk over the past year or so about a proposed WWE Network. WWE at one point had released vignettes on Raw touting that it was "coming soon" but news has since simmered down on this subject.
In a business update at the Citi Global Consumer Conference Wednesday, WWE Chief Financial Officer George Barrios gave a presentation in which he addressed the WWE Network game plan. Barrios listed the price point for this network to be in the $12.99 to $14.99 range. He also stated that the company is working to strike a deal with the first cable or satellite TV provider. WWE believes the rest will "fall like dominoes" once the first deal is reached.
Bill's View: If you are a DirecTV subscriber, you may have received a survey from them at some point along the way gaging interest in WWE Network. It's surprising that WWE has had lengthy ongoing discussions but has yet to make a deal happen with a carrier. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this as the summer rolls on.
