WWE NXT Sets “Takeover: Brooklyn” Event, Ticket Sale Date Announced

Last month, Ticketmaster pulled the listed NXT “Takeover” event that was slated for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on SummerSlam weekend.  This prompted a ton of online speculation and buzz that the upcoming “Takeover: The End” event signaled something bad for the NXT brand.

Today, Triple H took to his Twitter account to confirm that there will be an NXT “Takeover: Brooklyn” event slated for SummerSlam weekend.  The event will happen on August 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  Tickets for the event will go on sale this coming Saturday, June 11, starting at noon eastern time.  The tweets from the NXT account and Triple H are both shown below.

Bill Says:  There was a lot of negative backlash from fans about this situation, especially in light of the upcoming draft and “brand split” for the main roster.  At least now, we know that there will be an event, and while it’s hard to say what it will look like, I’m sure WWE will find a way to make it appeal to fans.
