WWE Live Event Results from Salisbury, MD for 7/23/2016 – Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston vs. Erick Rowan, Natalya vs. Becky Lynch, More

We’re always looking for correspondents for any live wrestling events you might be attending.  Thank you to site reader Bryan who sent these live event results in from the WWE live event that took place on Saturday night in Salisbury, MD.  You can send reaction and results to live wrestling events to me at

I got seats down close to the ring, but I took note that some top sections were blocked off.  It was pretty full – if I had to guess, might have been a bit over 2,000 people there.

  • The Usos def. The Club (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows).  A fairly split reaction to this one.  The Usos won with a double superkick and splash on Anderson.
  • Apollo Crews def. Aiden English.  Crews won with his powerbomb
  • The Shining Stars def. Sin Cara and Jack Swagger.  This was weak.

They did an interview video with Kofi Kingston.  He talked about how Big E was being inducted into the Iowa Sports Hall of Fame, and Xavier Woods’ flight was delayed so he was flying solo tonight.  He talked about the power of positivity.  I liked the fact that they did this, a nice touch.

  • AJ Styles def. Neville.  This was good.  Neville got in a lot of offense, but Styles finished him off with the Styles Clash.  After the match, Styles brought a little girl wearing a John Cena to the ring.  The fans applauded, but then he put his t-shirt on her.  A cool moment.
  • Kofi Kingston def. Erick Rowan (w/Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman).  TV does no justice to how big Strowman is – he is HUGE in person.  Wyatt was running around the ring and taunting Kofi and laughing about it throughout the match.
  • Zack Ryder and Darren Young def. The Ascension.  Nothing to write home about.
  • Becky Lynch def. Natalya.  Becky won with the Disarmer.
  • Dean Ambrose def. Seth Rollins to retain the WWE Championship.  Really good house show main event that Ambrose won clean with Dirty Deeds.  No Roman Reigns appearance like the other house show you got a report on.  Ambrose signed autographs and took pics with fans around ringside afterward.
