Lilian Garcia took to her Instagram account today to announce that she will be leaving the company to care for her father. As noted back in the spring, she had taken some time away to tend to his needs but returned in May to her normal ring announcing duties. This ends a 15-year run with the company for Lilian.
You can read her full statement at the Instagram link above, but here is a short quote:
“As most of you know, my father has been battling with two different types of cancer. He hasn’t been doing as well as we hoped, THEREFORE, I will not be traveling weekly with WWE any longer. I will be looking to take on work closer to where I live so that I don’t have to be on the road weekly away from him. He truly needs me, and I need this time with him. I ask that you please continue prayers for my father and my family. It has been a magical 15-year career at WWE, and WWE Universe, I can’t thank you enough for all your love and support!”
Bill Says: I would imagine that if she desired, Lilian would be welcomed back to WWE with open arms down the road. She had a lot of positive things to say about the company and those she worked with in her full statement.
