Billy Corgan, the frontman of the band Smashing Pumpkins and President of TNA Impact Wrestling went live on Facebook earlier today to talk about tonight’s Impact broadcast and other things. You can view the video at the link provided.
His role as President of TNA Impact Wrestling:
Corgan noted that his position is not just a storyline position, and it is real that he is president. He noted that business “has been pretty complicated” over the past few years and sorting it out “has definitely been a challenge.”
Involvement in trying to buy the company:
Corgan said he is “actively engaged” in trying to buy TNA, but it doesn’t mean that it will definitely happen. He said the process is complicated but he hopes to pull it off. He said he wants to not only run the culture of the company, but the company itself.
Creative team reports:
Corgan talked about the reports that John Gaburick running creative with Matt Conway and David Lagana supporting him. Corgan said that he is running creative, and that everything that appears on television is his responsibility. He listed Madison Rayne, John Gaburick, David Lagana, and Matt Conway as being on the creative team.
Bill Says: Interesting news from Corgan, and something I thought might have been better produced than a Facebook live video. But, given ownership considerations, this may have been his best way to get the message out. I’ll talk about this more on Around the Ring tonight.
