Report: Bill Goldberg in Talks to Return to WWE; Face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series

There are a lot of reports floating around regarding the status of Bill Goldberg, the former WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Champion who has been out of professional wrestling for several years now.  WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross took to Twitter this morning (shown below) to note that several sources have now informed him that Goldberg will be returning to WWE in time for the Survivor Series pay per view in November.  Goldberg would be in action at that event, facing Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg in the past has had his issues with WWE, but has softened his stance on many of them of late, and is a feature character in the new WWE 2K17 video game.  He will be appearing tonight on ESPN’s weekly “Off the Ropes” segment hosted by Jonathan Coachman at 9PM EST.  If he makes any sort of official comment on his WWE status, we’ll pass that news along.

Bill Says:  This is a pretty good hook for Survivor Series if it comes to pass and would likely help sell the event on name value.  Their last match at Wrestlemania 20 was quite the stinker, though, so let’s hope if true it’s a better match.
