Mick Foley made an announcement on Facebook this morning – Sasha Banks defending her WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte in the Hell in a Cell will be the Main Event of the pay-per-view of the same name.
This is the first time that a women’s match will be headlining a WWE pay-per-view, as well as the first time a Women’s title is on the line in the main event, and the first time there is a women’s Hell in a Cell match.
Drew’s Take: Out of the three Hell in a Cell matches, this is the only one that feels like it should actually be in a Hell in a Cell. HiaC matches are supposed to be about grudges that can only be settled in the most brutal of ways, and these two ladies certainly have the history to pull from to create that. It doesn’t hurt that the show will be in Boston – Sasha’s home town. These two women have been having great matches for a long time now, and I expect this match to be no different. I just hope that WWE doesn’t shove the accomplishment down our throats. They have a habit of ruining things by over-plugging them.
