United Kingdom Network Challenge TV Announces End of TNA Impact TV Deal in January 2017

In a post on the company website, Challenge TV has announced that they are ending their television deal with TNA Impact Wrestling in January of 2017.  The United Kingdom based network has been broadcasting TNA programming, including pay per views and Xplosion shows, since 2010.  In a simple statement on the website, they said the following:

We know that many TNA fans will be disappointed to hear this, but we wanted to let you all know that as of January 2017, Challenge will no longer be the home of TNA in the UK. TNA has been a huge and important part of Challenge’s story over the years and we will treasure some great moments like the British Bootcamp and UK tours. We have been proud to bring UK viewers coverage of TNA and have huge respect for the company and its fans. TNA is packed with great talent and we know they will continue to do great things – we wish them all the best.

TNA also released a statement on the end of their partnership with Challenge.  The company acknowledged the three to five day wait between the US broadcast and the UK broadcast and noted that they have the goal to broadcast their shows in the UK “as close to the US premiere as possible.”  With that said, it does appear that the company is attempting to find another television partner in the United Kingdom to work with after the Challenge TV deal expires.
