Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro has filed documents claiming she was sexually assaulted during a WWE trip to a military base in Kuwait in 2006 – and states the company told her to keep the incident quiet.
Earlier this week, Massaro filed documents to join the head-injury lawsuit that includes over 50 former WWE talents. In the documents, it mentioned the incident in Kuwait as a means of highlighting their negligence.
Massaro stated the assault happened while she was in the Middle East on a non-Tribute to the Troops WWE-sanctioned trip. She was joined by Maria Kanellis, Jimmy Hart, and Ron Simmons on this trip.
According to the documents, Massaro was seen by Dr. Rios after coming back home. “Upon her return to the United States, she was seen by Dr. Rios who interviewed her about the incident. Dr. Rios reported the incident to WWE executives who soon thereafter met with Massaro to apologize for their negligence but persuaded her that it would be best not to report it to appropriate authorities.”
Just days before leaving for Kuwait, Massaro gave a now chilling statement to WWE.com. “Anything can happen going over to the Middle East, but my company takes care of me, and I trust them. I have full faith that I will come back exactly the way I left, if not a little bit better in the heart.”
ProWrestlingSheet.com has published Massaro’s portion of the document, as seen below.
