In another turn regarding the UFC 206 main event, Anthony Pettis has missed weight for the interim featherweight championship bout against Max Holloway. That fight is slated to go down at UFC 206 in Toronto, Ontario Canada at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, December 10.
Pettis (19-5), came in at 148 pounds at the official weigh-in, which is 3 pounds over the 145 pound weight limit. His opponent, Max Holloway (16-3) came in right at 145 pounds. UFC will be hosting a ceremonial weigh-in on Friday afternoon at the venue, but Pettis will not have another opportunity to make weight since that event is for entertainment only. As a result of missing weight, Pettis will be forfeiting twenty percent of his fight purse.
According to UFC President Dana White, the fight will still headline the card but will now only carry interim championship implications for Holloway. If he wins, Holloway will become the interim featherweight champion. If Pettis wins, he will not be considered the interim champion.
