WWE held a press conference earlier this morning announcing the creation of the WWE United Kingdom Championship, and a 16-man tournament coming to the WWE Network in January that will crown the first champion.
The press conference was held at the O2 Arena in London, England, and announced the tournament, which will be aired live on the WWE Network. It will be held over two days and features 16 competitors from the United Kingdom. Whoever wins the tournament will be crowned the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion.
Representing WWE at the press conference was Triple H, Finn Balor, and William Regal. Perhaps the biggest news to come out of this tournament however is the announcement that Nigel McGuinness will be involved, joining Michael Cole on commentary.
The 16 participants in the tournament joined Triple H on stage. No names were given in the article, however fans have identified Trent Severn, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Jordan Devlin, Tyson T-Bone, Ricky J McKenzie, and Joseph Conners in the photo.
Tickets go on sale today at 12 p.m. GMT at livenation.co.uk.
