WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka Passes Away at Age 73

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has passed away after a a battle with stomach cancer.  It was his daughter, current WWE superstar Tamina Snuka, who posted the announcement to her Instagram page.  He was 73 years old.

Snuka was a star of the 80’s, famously jumping off of a steel cage in a match at Madison Square Garden.  His career was legendary, leading to an eventual WWE Hall of Fame induction in 1996.

Sadly, Snuka’s legendary wrestling career was overshadowed by legal matters late in his life.  In the 80’s, Snuka was said to have been involved in the murder of his then-girlfriend in an Allentown hotel.  Those charges came back to light over the past couple years as the case was re-opened, but recently a judge dismissed those charges because Snuka was deemed incompetent to stand trial for them.
