WWE announced this morning that Seth Rollins was injured during Monday Night Raw’s show closing angle. Rollins was jumped by Samoa Joe following a Triple H promo and beaten down at ringside.
Rollins re-injured the knee that he suffered major injuries to in 2015 overseas. Rollins’ right knee suffered injuries to the ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus, which required surgery. Rollins was sidelined until the summer of 2016 as a result, missing Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas, TX. In a report on PWInsider.com, Rollins is seeing doctors in Birmingham, AL to evaluate the nature and extent of the injuries, so the injury is not a storyline driven injury. Neither the PWInsider report nor WWE’s announcement indicated the severity of the injury.
It has long been assumed that Rollins would be going on to Wrestlemania to face Triple H, but based on the results of his examination today those plans may change. We’ll keep you posted on any news regarding Rollins’ condition.
