Ryan Satin at ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that Matt and Jeff Hardy have chosen not to resign with TNA Wrestling.
Rumors have been circulating for some time now that WWE would be interesting in bring the Hardys back for one more run in the company. With Jeff doing well mentally and Matt in the midst of a career resurgence, The Hardys could be major players for WWE, who has two rosters thin on upper level talent after the brand split.
According to Satin, The Hardy’s agreed to a 1-year deal back in December, but they were awaiting finalized details on the contract, including creative control clauses. Ultimately the deal fell through after modifications to the contract didn’t agree with The Hardy’s.
To further complicate matters, The Hardys are the the current TNA Tag Team Champions.
It is worth noting that this is all rumor at this point, and nothing has been confirmed by either Matt, Jeff, TNA or WWE. This could all be a swerve or a play to get a better deal from TNA.
We will continue to monitor the story and report any further developments.
UPDATE: Matt Hardy took to Twitter to confirm the news:
