According to a report on PWInsider.com, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis-Bennett have left TNA Impact Wrestling. This brings the talent departures in advance of their next television taping to four, as Drew McIntyre and Matt and Jeff Hardy have also left the company as previously noted this week.
The couple’s respective contracts expired in late 2016, yet they continued to work on “per appearance” deals with the company during the last set of television tapings. The company did make an effort to re-sign them and had come to terms with the company, but they ended up not signing officially. The duo had come over from Ring of Honor, where they both worked starting in 2010. They left ROH in 2015 when their deals lapsed and signed with TNA at that time.
Bennett became known as “Miracle Mike Bennett” and Maria became a central figure within the Knockouts division. Their final appearance on TNA television is the Allie-Braxton Sutter wedding that many noted was very well done.
Mike Johnson is also reporting that Jade’s (Stephanie Bell) contract has also expired. Known as Mia Yim on the independent scene, she came over to the company in 2013 making various appearances before debuting within the Dollhouse faction in 2015. She has held the Knockouts championship and won a “Queen of the Knockouts” gauntlet match while with the company.
No word on the direction of any of the three at this time, though Maria has said that she is considering leaving wrestling in order to continue her education and focus on other interests.
