Impact Wrestling *SPOILERS* for Upcoming Television

Impact Wrestling taped their next round television starting tonight in Orlando, FL at Universal Studios.   I discussed some of these spoilers on Around the Ring this evening as well, so be sure to give that a listen.  If you don't want these upcoming shows spoiled, don't read on!  Spoilers are courtesy ProWrestling.net, however, if you were in the building and have more information to contribute, we'd greatly appreciate an email to bwentz@ring-rap.com with that information.

Xplosion match:  ODB def. Laurel Van Ness

The Impact taping started with Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards brawling into the arena.

Jeremy Borash was introduced as the new member to the broadcast team.  He told Josh Mathews that management wanted someone in the chair that people liked, and that he was mentored by Mike Tenay to be the next announcer.  He accused past management of hiring someone fired by WWE and that’s how Mathews got his job.  Josh talked about being mentored by Jim Ross and having called a Wrestlemania event.  Borash said he knows Ross and Ross thinks Mathews sucks.

Cody Rhodes appeared and asked if fans wanted to see him face Moose.

Match #1 – Reno Scum def. Bram and Kingston

Match #2 – Braxton Sutter def. Marshe Rockett, Caleb Konley, and DJ Z in a four-way match

Cody Rhodes interrupted to prevent Brandi Rhodes from wrestling KC Quinn.  Cody talked about Moose being in Japan, but he is Japan.  Cody challenged Moose for the Grand Championship, then Rosemary attacked Quinn for no reason.

Bruce Prichard made an appearance to talk about his previous run.  He said the TNA name is dead and the company is now known as Impact Wrestling going forward.  Bruce talked about knowing the champion and brought out Lashley, and put him over by saying that he didn’t know if anyone could beat him.  Alberto El Patron came out, then EC3 came out to tell Patron to earn his shot.  Lashley told EC3 that he already lost to him, so he would face El Patron later.

Dutch Mantel came to the stage on his scooter and talked about making Impact great again.  He talked about past names and said they left because the company lacked leadership, vision, and respect.  He said fans left as well and he wants to bring them back by giving Impact back to the fans.  He had the fans stand and say “We the People will make Impact great again.”

Cody called Moose out again, but JB reminded him that Moose was in Japan.  Cody sat in the ring.

Match #3 – Laredo Kid and Garza Jr. def. Eli Drake and Tyrus

Match #4 – Sienna def. Rachel Ellering

Match #5 – Alberto El Patron def Bobby Lashley (c) to win the Impact Wrestling Championship.  The match included referee bumps and what seemed like a Dusty finish.  The officials argued over the result, then Earl Hebner, Bruce Prichard, and other company officials joined in.  El Patron left with the title.

Moose vs. Eli Drake never got started because Cody took Moose out with a chair and hit him with Cross Rhodes on the stage.

XPlosion Matches:

  • Trevor Lee def. Caleb Konley, Marshe Rockett, Andrew Everett, DJ Z, and Idris Abraham in a six-way match
  • Angelina Love def. Angel Rose

Match #6 – Moose (w/Brandi Rhodes) def. Cody Rhodes to win the Impact Grand Championship.  Cody took out a judge, leading to Bruce Prichard taking his place.  Brandi walked out on Cody before the third round.  Moose won by split decision.
