Reader Report: WrestleCon Super Show Results for 3/31/2017 – The Hardys vs. Penta El Cero Miedo and Rey Fenix, Lashley vs. Jeff Cobb, Team Ricochet vs. Team Ospreay, More

Thanks to site reader Rob who sent in the following results from the WrestleCon Super Show that took place on March 31, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, FL.  If you are attending any wrestling events and want to send in results and opinion, feel free to email me at

  • Michael Elgin, ACH, and Mascarita Dorada def. David Starr, Trevor Lee, and Caleb Konley.  Dorado used to be El Torito in WWE.  He hit a double jump moonsault and pinned Konley.
  • Low Ki def. Shane Strickland.  Low Ki was a surprise to us, and won a decent match with a Ghetto Stomp on the apron while Strickland was tied up in the ropes.
  • Lashley (c) def. Jeff Cobb to retain the Impact Wrestling Championship.  Cobb didn’t last in this one – he got gassed early and at one point could not even run the ropes.  Lashley hit a spear to end it.
  • Jack Evans and Angelico def. Flip Gordon and Sammy Guevara.  This match didn’t stand out to me.  Jack did too much of his gimmick.  Angelico finished it with a crucifix bucklebomb.
  • Team Ricochet (Ricochet, Sami Callihan, AR Fox, Desmond Xavier and Jason Cade) def. Team Ospreay (Will Ospreay, Drew Galloway, Marty Scurll, Lio Rush, and Ryan Smile).  Word to describe this – WILD.  A ton of high spots, a dance party broke out at one point, and a finish that at least surprised me.  Cade pinned Ospreay after hitting a dragonrana.  Ricochet gave a shout out to Kris Travis in his memory afterward in a nice moment.
  • Swoggle won a 24-person battle royale for the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship.  Notable names in this one aside from Swoggle included Joey Ryan, Colt Cabana, 2 Cold Scorpio, Billy Gunn, Suicide, Shane Douglas, Shannon Moore, Hurricane, Gangrel, Kevin Thorn, and Marty Jannetty.  The last four were Moose, Gangrel, Swoggle, and Joey Ryan.  Joey did a move that involved his dick to eliminate Moose (I turned to a buddy and said “what a dick move….” ba-dum-tiss).  Swoggle snuck up behind Ryan to eliminate him and win.  Right after, Joey rolled Swoggle up to get the belt back, then Sandman entered and caned Joey, pinning him to win the title.
  • Cage (w/Melissa Santos) def. Johnny Mundo (w/Taya).  At one point, Cage drove Taya through a table with a powerbomb, and Mundo speared Santos through a table as well.  Cage pinned Mundo after hitting a screwdriver.
  • Matt and Jeff Hardy def. Penta El Cero Miedo and Rey Fenix.  The Hardys won by hitting the Twist of Fate and a Swanton on both of the luchadors.  After,  Matt got a mic and in “Broken” fashion put over the fans for keeping wrestling alive, not MeekMaaahn’s fans, and in return the fans get real wrestling.  Matt put over several teams, such as the Young Bucks, the Briscoes, and the luchadors as the best teams in the world.
