The Current Line-Up for the WWE “Payback” Pay Per View

As of last evening’s Raw broadcast, the following matches are set for WWE “Payback.”  The event will take place on April 30 in San Jose, CA at the SAP Center and air live on pay per view and WWE Network.

  • Randy Orton (c) vs. Bray Wyatt; WWE Championship Match in a “House of Horrors” match
  • Kevin Owens (c) vs. Chris Jericho; WWE United States Championship
  • Matt and Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Sheamus and Cesaro; Raw Tag Team Championship
  • Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries; WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Bill Says:  I am guessing that the cross-branded matches (Orton vs. Wyatt and possibly Owens vs. Jericho depending on tonight’s Smackdown results) can be explained away by saying they were booked before the Superstar Shakeup in order to get around that fact.  It will seem weird that the Smackdown top title will be defended on a Raw pay per view, but I do not expect Brock Lesnar, the Universal Champion, to defend before SummerSlam, honestly.  I would expect to see Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman added, as well as the rest of the card fleshed out, within the  next week since there are only two more Raw broadcasts before the event.
